F. Economou et al., BROAD H-ALPHA-EMISSION IN THE HIGH-REDSHIFT RADIO GALAXY-3C-22, Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 272(2), 1995, pp. 5-8
We present the result of near-infrared spectroscopic observations of t
he radio galaxy 3C 22 (z = 0.937). Contrary to the previous classifica
tion of this object as a narrowline radio galaxy, we report the clear
presence of a broad H alpha line, showing directly that at least some
powerful radio galaxies are simply reddened quasars.
