The method for computer searching for the optimum composition of radia
tion-resistant metallic alloys for atomic power engineering is propose
d. The basic models accounting for variations in the properties of irr
adiated materials are considered. The most promising for designing the
''composition-property'' models is the use of mathematical methods en
abling one to obtain a compromise solution. To these methods belong, i
n particular, the models based on desirability and objective functions
, representation functions, and on the methods of vector optimization.
The mathematical schemes are chosen for minimization of the generaliz
ed criterion of vector optimization, with particular constraints impos
ed on the properties of a radiation-resistant material.
