On the basis of theoretical discussions mainly introduced into psychol
ogy before 1950 and in a second step after 1970 the following basic as
pects of ecological perspectives in developmental psychology are outli
ned: psychology in terms of objects; subject-dependency vs. object-ori
entation; transaction; context, culture; ecological validity; everyday
situations and naturalism; space, time, and matter; teleology, intent
ion and values; interdisciplinarity. The potential power of ecological
perspectives for the psychology of today is regarded high.
