A DECISION-SUPPORT APPROACH FOR NEGOTIATION WITH AN APPLICATION TO AGRICULTURAL INCOME POLICY NEGOTIATIONS

In this paper a Negotiation Support System, RAMONA, is proposed for us e in a negotiation involving agricultural income policy in Finland. RA MONA develops Pareto Optimal solutions in two-party negotiations. The negotiating parties are the Finnish Government (Ministry of Finance an d Ministry of Agriculture) and the Central Union of Agricultural Produ cers. We will demonstrate that the use of the mediating system can be helpful both in structuring the parties' own preferences and in findin g a compromise solution to a negotiation problem.
