Abstract
The lattice vibration spectra of p-type Zn1-xMgxTe alloys (0.08 less t han or equal to x less than or equal to 0.43) wire investigated by inf rared reflectivity measurements in the wave number range from 300 to 1 100 cm(-1). Three optical phonon modes were found in the range 420, 48 0 and 620 cm(-1). The spectral dependence coefficient a was also studi ed in this range of wave number. Two main absorption bands at similar or equal to 490 cm(-1) and 520 cm(-1) were found, for all values of x. These bands may be attributed to absorption arising from generation o f the phonon modes.
