Abstract
Zener diodes are well-known for their voltage control applications. Fo r the circuit design it is desirable that their I-V characteristics be known prior to the device fabrication if their breakdown voltages and current ratings are specified. A suitable empirical J-V formula is be ing presented here for that purpose. Its agreement with experimentally measured I-V characteristics of zener diodes have been found to be ex cellent.
