Hm. Hoan et al., OXIDATION OF COPPER(I), SILVER(I), AND MERCURY(II) METHYLACETYLIDES IN AQUEOUS-SOLUTIONS, Kinetics and catalysis, 35(6), 1994, pp. 820-823
A dialkyne species is found to be the primary product of Cu(I) and Ag(
I) methylacetylide oxidation with copper halides, while the oxidation
of Hg(II) methylacetylide yields a haloalkyne entity as a primary prod
uct. Various oxidants are arranged in a series by relative reactivity
in the reactions involving Cu(I) and Ag(I) methylacetylides. The mecha
nism for the oxidative transformations of metal alkynyl complexes is d
iscussed.
