Oxidation of 1-C4H8 on YBa2CU3O7-x catalysts prepared by self-propagat
ing high-temperature synthesis (SHS) (C-1) and by conventional furnace
technology (C-2) Was studied. The ESR experiments show that both C-1
and C-2 samples lose their superconducting properties as the reaction
of I-butene oxidation proceeds. However, sample C-1 retains its cataly
tic activity in the conversion of butene to butadiene and promotes the
deep oxidation reaction, whereas sample C-2 is ineffective in these p
rocesses.
