Abstract
The influence of Cu/Pt atomic ratio (gamma = 0.5-260; [Pt] = 0.15-1.2 wt %; [Cu] = 0.1-12.7 wt %) on the performance of Pt-Cu/Al2O3 in catal ytic n-dodecane dehydrogenation is studied. The catalysts are obtained by impregnation of gamma-Al2O3 With aqueous solutions of Cu(NO3)(2) a nd H2PtCl6. An extremal dependence of the catalytic activity on the Cu /Pt ratio is found with a minimum alkane conversion at gamma similar t o 3-13. Thermooxidative pretreatment causes a 2-4-fold increase in cat alytic activity at 1 < gamma < 49. The minimum temperature range of th is treatment is 300-400 degrees C.
