Abstract
The possibility to observe a pion condensate in peripheral nucleus - n ucleus collisions at GSI energies is discussed. A condensate may be ob served via pronounced peaks in pion production in a narrow region of m omenta k(perpendicular to) similar or equal to (2-3) m(pi) correspondi ng to rather large rapidity values.
