Abstract
Citric acid detection threshold and magnitude response were measured o n the anterior tongue in 10 patients with unilateral chorda-lingual ne rve transections before and after repair. Fungiform taste buds were an alysed by videomicroscopy. Preliminary data suggests that humans can r egenerate fungiform taste buds and recover some taste sensitivity afte r repair.
