Under field conditions in fertilization trial, on calcareous sandy soi
l the dynamics of silicon concentration and accumulation were studied
from tillering till full ripening phenophase. The dry matter productio
n was measured in plant samples taken aboveground generally each decad
e, on altogether ten occasions. The samples were analysed after weighin
g, drying and grinding. Following hydrochloric hydrolysis, the weighin
g was carried out by using ICP technics. The biometrical evaluation wa
s done by variance analysis. Based on the results of tests, the follow
ing conclusions can be drawn: the concentration of silicon during the
period studied moved between 0.69 and 0.40% with slight differences am
ong each samples. in grain yield a concentration of 0.04%, in straw th
at of 0.51% were measured on the average, the N, P and K fertilization
s influenced practically minimal the change of concentrations. the acc
umulation of silicon in the aboveground part has increased and reached
its maximum at different rates till the end of flowering, in the ripe
ning stage a decline of 25% was observed due to leaf losses, the N, NP
and NPK fertilizations significantly increased in the vegetative deve
lopment stage the accumulated mass of Si as compared to control. the d
ecisive part of the accumulated Si, 95% was found in the vegetative pa
rts, in the straw and yields glume.
