A. Stawikowski et R. Glebocki, ARE THE ROTATIONAL AXES PERPENDICULAR TO THE ORBITAL PLANES IN THE BINARY-SYSTEMS .2. SYNCHRONOUS LONG-PERIOD RS CVN STARS, Acta Astronomica, 44(4), 1994, pp. 393-406
Inclinations of the rotational axes, i(rot), are determined for 37 syn
chronous long-period RS CVn binaries by combining V-rot sin i(rot) mea
surements with rotational period information. These inclinations are t
hen compared with the orbital inclinations of the systems, i(orb), to
test the alignment between the equatorial and orbital planes. Contrary
to the asynchronous RS CVn systems (see Paper I), in all 37 cases i(r
ot) is equal or nearly equal to i(orb), and the assumption about copla
narity of their equatorial and orbital planes is justified.
