The result of dielectric relaxation measurements (1 kHz divided by 1 G
Hz) for series of mesogenic molecules CnH2n+1-phi-phi-CH2CH2-phi-NCS,
n-TPEB, (n = 7 divided by 10) in the isotropic phase, have been presen
ted. Two Debye-type bands have been interpreted as a dielectric absorp
tion due to the rotation around the long and short molecular axis. An
optimization of the geometry of non-rigid TPEB molecules have been mad
e using a quantum mechanics semi-empirical method PM3.
