C. Ajello et al., EVALUATION OF EARTHS ATMOSPHERIC BRIGHTNESS TEMPERATURE AT DECIMETRICWAVELENGTHS, The Astrophysical journal. Supplement series, 96(2), 1995, pp. 643-650
Atmospheric profiles of pressure, temperature, and relative humidity,
measured with stratospheric balloons, are used to calculate the radiof
requency brightness temperature, T-atm, of the atmospheric signal seen
by a ground observer. Below 1 GHz the calculated values are definitel
y more precise(few percent accuracy), than directly measured values( 1
0% accuracy or worse).
