Dl. Pallant et Pg. Taylor, APPROXIMATION OF PERFORMANCE-MEASURES IN CELLULAR MOBILE NETWORKS WITH DYNAMIC CHANNEL ALLOCATION, Telecommunication systems, 3(2), 1994, pp. 129-163
This paper considers large cellular mobile networks with dynamic chann
el allocation in which the arrival rates, holding times and handover p
robabilities for the different cells are identical. Such networks coul
d model, for example, cellular networks in suburban areas. Different m
ethods of analysing these networks are compared. These methods fall in
to two basic categories, those which approximate a network with a smal
ler finite network and those which consider the expected performance o
f a cell within an environment consisting of cells with identical prop
erties. Simplifications of these methods which arise out of the revers
ibility of a symmetric cellular network are also discussed.
