D. Seyfarth et al., EFFECTIVITY OF RHODOVET(R) FOR THE PROPHY LAXIS OF COLIENTEROTOXEMIA IN A PIG-RAISING STY, Berliner und Munchener Tierarztliche Wochenschrift, 107(12), 1994, pp. 416-418
The coli enteroxemia caused by Coli serotype 0139 occurred in contrary
to the generally observed course of this infection through several we
eks and was exceedingly detrimental. Almost exclusively the shock and
oedema form of colienteroxemia was seen. The application of usual sche
mes of prophylaxis and therapy did not effect durable reduction of ani
mal losses. With the daily oral application of Rhodovet(R), a drug con
taining thiocyanate, in dosis of 3.5 kg/t feed during 5 weeks the morb
idity resp. mortality could be decisively reduced.
