Abstract
This paper deals with the filling steps in the mold casting process. A ttention is focused on the shapes of the free surfaces of the filling jet. The shapes are determined through an experimental device and a nu merical code. Although the assumptions for the calculations are strong , the obtained results agree well with the experimental results.
