Xa. Wang et al., AN ADVANCED SIGNAL-PROCESSING TECHNIQUE FOR IMPEDANCE CARDIOGRAPHY, IEEE transactions on biomedical engineering, 42(2), 1995, pp. 224-230
A new design using the latest technique in signal processing, the time
-frequency analysis method, was developed to process impedance cardiog
raphy signals. This technique, when used to determine the relevant cal
culation parameters, was found to he more accurate than conventional m
ethods. It was shown to be advantageous in reducing ventilation artifa
cts and motion noise, resulting in greater accuracy. Its cardiac outpu
t values had a much better correlation coefficient when compared in th
e clinical setting to the standard thermodilution technique than did t
he values from conventional impedance cardiography devices.
