Abstract
Two patients with distally obstructed ventriculo-peritoneal shunts wer e successfully treated by laparoscopic intervention. A 72-year-old wom an with normal pressure hydrocephalus and a 24-year-old woman with aqu eductal stenosis became symptomatic because of distal obstructions of previously placed ventriculo-peritoneal shunts. Laparoscopic intervent ion enabled the efficient revision of the distal cannulae in both case s with prompt clinical improvement.
