Abstract
Data on thermochemistry of hexahalogenotitanates from the literature a re reviewed and discussed. Mutual relations between heats of formation and thermal dissociation, as well as lattice energies of the salts re sulting from the thermochemical cycle enabled determination of unknown characteristics. Lattice energetics-was also examined following the K apustinskii-Yatsimirskii approach. The combination of the latter metho d with relations arising from the thermochemical cycle, afforded infor mation on the influence of dimensions of ions on the thermodynamic sta bility of the compounds with respect to dissociation and oxidation pro cesses.
