Abstract
An enantioselective synthesis of anti 1,2-diols via the reactions of a ldehydes and the tartrate ester-modified (E)-gamma-(menthofurylsilyl)a llylboronate 5 has been developed. This methodology is applied to a br ief, enantioselective synthesis of (-)-swainsonine.
