Abstract
We describe the first synthesis of acyl nucleoside diphosphates and ac yl nucleoside triphosphates designed to be nucleotide lipophilic prodr ugs. An improved preparation of acyl pyrophosphate salts, from carboxy lic acid and tris-tetrabutylammonium pyrophosphate, is a key step in t his synthesis.
