Abstract
The results are given of a two-dimensional calculation of shock wave p ropagation in ideal gas with an inhomogeneous distribution of density, which simulates a heated cathode layer of a transverse pulse glow dis charge. The analysis reveals that the inclusion of such inhomogeneity does not make it possible to obtain in the calculation an adequate des cription of peculiarities recorded in the experiment.
