Formulas are derived to estimate the thermophoretic deposition of aero
sol particles in plane-parallel and cylindrical channels with laminar
gas flows and considerable longitudinal and small transverse temperatu
re drops. The numerical estimates indicate that the coefficient of the
rmophoretic capture of particles may exceed 40% for five- and sixfold
longitudinal temperature drops.
