Abstract
While recent elaborations of policy design have been innovative and in triguing, feminist analysis remains unacknowledged. The exclusion of f eminist analysis confounds policy design's goal of increased sensitivi ty to context, values, and audience. I use feminist standpoint epistem ology to illustrate and expand the dialogue of policy design as well a s policy analysis generally. Addressing policy analysis from a meta-pe rspective facilitates a discussion of theory, methodology, and practic e. The applicative aspects of the feminist epistemic stance are illust rated via a hypothetical case study addressing the environmental probl ematique. As such, a feminist standpoint reformulation of policy desig n is proffered. Overall, the analysis expands the theoretical construc tion of policy design, providing an increased potential for participat ory policy analysis and a bridge between two discourses previously lac king interchange.
