Abstract
A fluorimetric procedure for the determination of sulfamethoxazole usi ng flow injection analysis is proposed. A two channel system is optimi zed for the fluorescent reaction with o-phthaldialdehyde and beta-merc aptoethanol. The detection limit is 0.007 mu g/ml. No fluorescence is generated by the metabolite N-acetylated sulfamethoxazole. The method is applied to the determination of sulfamethoxazole in pharmaceuticals , urine and bovine serum samples without matrix interference problems.
