Abstract
This paper is concerned with the static theory of microstretch elastic solids introduced by Eringen [2]. First, a counterpart of the Boussin esq-Somigliana-Galerkin solution in the classical elastostatics is pre sented. The problem of an infinite solid subject to concentrated body loads is solved. Then, representations of the Somigliana type are esta blished. The potentials of single- and double-layer are used to reduce the boundary value problems to singular integral equations. Existence and uniqueness results are established.
