EFFICIENT COMPUTATION OF SIMULTANEOUS RADIATION-TRAPPING AND PARTICLEDIFFUSION IN AN ATOMIC VAPOR

We give an efficient algorithm for the computation of simultaneous rad iation trapping and particle diffusion in an atomic vapor. We combine the solutions of the trapping-without-diffusion and the diffusion-with out-trapping problems by solving an algebraic eigenvalue problem. As a n example for the use of our new method, we show a computation of the fraction of wall-quenched atoms.
