Abstract
Network and cooperative processes in the monitoring and control of rai l traffic. We are concerned with the work analysis of the control of R ail traffic that is normally a collective task. Bur the central point is the modification of the prescribed organisation and of the content of the work, when an unexpected event occurs (here a person is injured ; the train stops so that the scheduled traffic has to be modified). T he analysis of communications during the monitoring and control of the situation emphasizes a new organisation of the normal team : the team is extended to other workers of the company so that we can characteri ze an other form of group we call network which is operative to contro l the event and which is based on a collective creation of a common re ferent or a common information space. From an ergonomic point of view, the development of the network needs other equipments that the one us ed during normal situations so that informations can be exchanged quic kly for a better interaction between the actors. From a training point of view, that means to have a. reflexion about characteristic inciden tal situations and not only to teach the prescribed instructions and w ork rules.
