Abstract
A computational method is developed for determining temperature distri butions in machining with coolant. Realistic models are proposed for h eat-generation rates in the cutting regions and for heat-transfer coef ficients for cooled boundaries. In Part 1 the models used in the analy sis are presented while in Part 2 the computational method and results are given.
