Neurovascular imaging stresses the role of MR angiography and color fl ow Doppler sonography in selected congenital vascular anomalies, aneur ysms, arteriovenous malformations, arteriosclerotic cerebrovascular di sease, and dural sinus thrombosis. The application of North American S ymptomatic Carotid Endarterectomy Trial criteria to the diagnosis of c arotid artery stenosis and the correlations among radiograph arteriogr aphy, sonography, and MR angiography are reviewed in detail. The new c linical advisory on endarterectomy for asymptomatic 60% to 99% carotid stenosis is reviewed as well.
