A. Mohr et al., PERFORMANCE OF A THIN-FILM MICROELECTRODE ARRAY FOR MONITORING ELECTROGENIC CELLS IN-VITRO, Sensors and actuators. B, Chemical, 34(1-3), 1996, pp. 265-269
A planar array of microelectrodes has been developed for monitoring th
e electrical activity of electrogenic cells in a cell culture by an ex
tracellular recording mode. The design, the fabrication technique, and
the characterization of the array by impedance measurements is descri
bed. The device is applied to monitor extracellular signals produced b
y cultured chicken embryo cardiac myocytes.
