K. Bogenschneider, ROLES FOR PROFESSIONALS IN BUILDING FAMILY POLICY - A CASE-STUDY OF STATE FAMILY IMPACT SEMINARS, Family relations, 44(1), 1995, pp. 5-12
In response to calls for policies to strengthen families, this article
elaborates on policy roles for family professionals-research for fami
ly policy, family evaluation research, family impact analysis, and fam
ily policy advocacy (Nybe & McDonald, 1979). A new role, family policy
alternatives education, is illustrated with the case study of Wiscons
in Family Impact Seminars. The seminars' success in influencing policy
discourse and in building linkages among state policy makers, agency
officials, researchers, and practitioners is discussed.
