Tm. Williams et al., OSTEOGENIC-SARCOMA METASTATIC TO THE KIDNEY - SPONTANEOUS SUBCAPSULARHEMORRHAGE WITH RENAL-ARTERY THROMBOSIS, Canadian Association of Radiologists journal, 46(1), 1995, pp. 51-53
The authors describe an occult metastatic deposit in the kidney of a 2
2-year-old woman; such lesions are not usually detected until autopsy.
They postulate that after the development of acute subcapsular hemato
ma, a ''renal compartmental syndrome'' occurred, leading to renal arte
ry thrombosis. Primary vascular involvement by the metastatic osteosar
coma, which was remote from the renal hilus, was not identified pathol
ogically.
