Xk. Wu et al., SPECTROSCOPY OF CR4- THE COUPLING OF T-3(2) AND (1)E STATES( IN MGCABA ALUMINATE GLASS ), Chemical physics letters, 233(1-2), 1995, pp. 28-32
The spectroscopic properties of Cr4+ in MgCaBa aluminate glass at 15 K
have been studied using time-resolved fluorescence measurements. It i
s found that the luminescence of Cr4+ in the glass is from Cr4+ ions i
n both high and low crystalline field sites. With increasing delays th
e broadband emission observed at early times gradually evolves into a
narrow band with a peak wavelength at 1.18 mu m. The time-resolved spe
ctra are compared with the theoretical prediction of a model taking in
to account both the site distribution and the admixture of the T-3(2)
state into (1)E state through spin-orbit interaction.
