A. Mozumder, ELECTRON-MOBILITY IN LIQUID HYDROCARBONS - APPLICATION OF THE QUASI-BALLISTIC MODEL, Chemical physics letters, 233(1-2), 1995, pp. 167-172
The quasi-ballistic model of transport, recently introduced by the aut
hor (Chem. Phys. Letters 207 (1993) 245), has been applied to eleven h
ydrocarbon liquids in which the electron mobility is less than 10 cm(2
) V-1 s(-1). In all cases except benzene a combination of a trap densi
ty similar to 10(19) cm(-3) and a quasi-free mobility similar to 100 c
m(2) V-1 s(-1) fits the experimental data quite well. Other possible r
anges for this pair of values are indicated. Within the context of the
model, activation energy for mobility seems approximately proportiona
l to the binding energy of the electron in the trap, although not nece
ssarily equal to it.
