The fractal behaviour of multiplicity production in 400 GeV/c pp colli
sions is analyzed using the modified multifractal moments which are ca
lculated from the experimental data and Monte Carlo events sample. The
generalized dimensions D-q for q=2, 3, 4, 5 are determined. The multi
fractal character is observed. The linear relations between ln [n(q)]
and ln (delta eta) are tested, where n is the multiplicity in a single
bin of width delta eta and the symbol [] means averaging over all bin
s. The results indicated that it may be necessary to separate the dyna
mical effects from the statistical background in order to determine D-
q from the slopes.
