As. Hassan et al., REAL-SPACE RENORMALIZATION-GROUP ANALYSIS OF U(1)-GAUGE THEORY WITH THETA-TERM IN 2-DIMENSIONS, Progress of theoretical physics, 93(1), 1995, pp. 161-172
U(1) lattice gauge theory with theta-term is investigated by real spac
e renormalization group approach. Flows of renormalized coupling const
ants are analyzed. For each theta, renormalization flows converge to a
single trajectory irrespective of bare coupling constants of real act
ion. For theta not equal pi the system is in the confinement phase con
trolled by an infrared fixed point. We found a phase transition at the
ta=pi. Imaginary part of the action given by theta-term stays fixed un
der renormalization group transformations leading to deconfinement.
