COLLABORATION SUPPORT WITH A PROJECT NAVIGATION SYSTEM

The performance of white-collar workers is limited, especially in thos e areas where information to be handled is neither pre-definable nor s tructured, yet the processes to be applied are flexible and dynamic. T his type of work often must be handled by a group of people working to gether. To support such collaborative work, we emphasize the importanc e of recording and visualizing the work processes in addition to the o utputs. To realize this, we have developed a prototype system named th e 'Project Navigation System (PNS)'. Under PNS, all the topics of meet ings and activities performed by individuals in the group are graphica lly presented and readily accessible. Interim and final documents are also associated with the activities. An example of PNS is given.
