A total of 52 patients, 47 women and 5 men aged 18 to 61, suffering fr
om contagious urogenital diseases, were examined in order to assess th
eir intestinal microbiocenosis. Group 1 consisted of 35 patients with
newly detected urogenital diseases, group 2 included 17 patients with
chronic recurrent infections. Disturbances in intestinal microflora we
re revealed in all the patients, however, they were more pronounced in
group 2. These disorders consisted in a drastic reduction and even co
mplete absence of Lactobacillus fibidum, Escherichia coli, Lactobacill
i, and appearance of the microorganisms not characteristic of normal i
ntestinal microflora. These data substantiate the necessity of compreh
ensive examinations and therapy of patients with urogenital infections
