Abstract
Various stages in the development of acantholytic cells are described. The authors trace the process of these cells mitosis; the results of their follow-up contradict the current opinion on the degenerative nat ure of these cells. Acantholytic cells of pemphigus patients are chara cterized by intensive protein metabolism, enzymatic activity; besides, they secrete IgG into the vesical cavity.
