NEW SPECIES AND NEW RECORDS OF CHEILOSTOMATOUS-BRYOZOA FROM THE FAROE-ISLANDS, COLLECTED BY BIOFAR

Twenty-eight species of cheilostomatous Bryozoa are described from the extensive benthic collections made by the BIOFAR project. Fifteen new species are described in the genera Beania, Escharella, Hemicyclopora , Neolagenipora, Porella, Palmiskenea, Reteporellina, Escharina, Stoma chetosella, Smittoidea and Pseudoflustra. Thirteen species with either Arctic or temperate distributions are reported for the first time fro m Faroese waters.
