F. Meinardi et al., RAMAN CHARACTERIZATION OF AMORPHOUS-CARBON PRODUCED BY FULLERITE LASER-INDUCED TRANSFORMATION, Solid state communications, 93(4), 1995, pp. 335-339
MicroRaman spectroscopy has been used to investigate the products of l
aser-induced cage opening reactions in fullerite films. Laser irradiat
ion of fullerite under oxidative conditions produces a conversion to a
morphous carbon. The analysis of the Raman spectra suggests the format
ion of a partially ordered a-C phase. The relation between its structu
re and the fullerene fragmentation process is discussed.
