Abstract
The fabrication of metallic oxide microtubes is possible directly, wit hout any support structure, by continuous wave infrared laser-assisted oxidation of the metal in air. The particular case presented is the g rowth of tube-like vanadium pentoxide microcrystals grown in our labor atories.
