Abstract
Cationic polymerization of N-Vinylcarbazol (NVC) was initiated with 1- iodo-1-(2-methylpropyloxy)ethane (1) in the presence of N(n-Bu)(4)Clo( 4) and without addition of this activator. Furthermore, 1-chloro-1-(2- methylpropyloxy)ethane (2), with and without activator has been applie d as initiator for NVC. These initiating systems show remarkable diffe rences in activity, which are discussed in detail.
