ADDITIVE EFFECT OF CLARITHROMYCIN COMBINED WITH 14-HYDROXY CLARITHROMYCIN, ERYTHROMYCIN, AMOXICILLIN, METRONIDAZOLE OR OMEPRAZOLE AGAINST HELICOBACTER-PYLORI
G. Cederbrant et al., ADDITIVE EFFECT OF CLARITHROMYCIN COMBINED WITH 14-HYDROXY CLARITHROMYCIN, ERYTHROMYCIN, AMOXICILLIN, METRONIDAZOLE OR OMEPRAZOLE AGAINST HELICOBACTER-PYLORI, Journal of antimicrobial chemotherapy, 34(6), 1994, pp. 1025-1029
The in-vitro activities of clarithromycin, 14-OH clarithromycin, eryth
romycin, amoxycillin, metronidazole and omeprazole against Helicobacte
r pylori were determined at pH 7.2 and 5.5. At pH 5.5 the activities o
f clarithromycin and erythromycin decreased approximately 16 times whi
le 14-OH clarithromycin was less influenced. Chequerboard titration in
dicated that the combined activity of clarithromycin and the other com
pounds was additive.
