Abstract
1-Dialkylaminomethylbenzotriazoles react with ethyl propiolate and dim ethyl acetylenedicarboxylate by addition of the benzotriazole anion fo llowed by the immonium cation. The benzotriazolyl group in the product s undergoes facile nucleophilic displacement.
