G. Sallet et al., OPHTHALMOSCOPIC VISUALIZATION OF THE INFERIOR OPHTHALMIC VEIN THROUGHA CHORIORETINAL COLOBOMA, American journal of ophthalmology, 119(2), 1995, pp. 242-243
PURPOSE/METHODS: In a patient with a coloboma of the optic nerve, infe
rior retina and choroid, and deep portions of the sclera, a retrobulba
r vessel moved irregularly relative to the retinal vessels, which move
d contiguously with the posterior globe. RESULTS/CONCLUSION: Fluoresce
in angiography showed the retrobulbar vessel filling slightly later th
an overlying retinal vessels. We conclude that the retrobulbar vessel
was a vein situated inferiorly to the optic nerve.
