Abstract
Bimetallic Pt-Au/SiO2 catalysts were prepared by surface Redox reactio ns. Au was introduced as Au Cl-4- reduced on platinum surface either b y hydrogen preadsorbed or by direct oxidation of Pt degrees by Au Cl-4 -. Characterization of catalysts by X.R.D. and by S.A.X.S. pointed out that bimetallic aggregates are formed of gold particules deposited on platinum particles with a reciprocal diffusion of the two metals.
